"WASHINGTON (AFX) -- For the first time, financial futures markets are
pricing in a small chance that the Federal Open Market Committee will raise
interest rates by a half-percentage point at the March 28 meeting, rather than
the quarter-point increases that have prevailed for the past 14 meetings.
Following weaker-than-expected revisions to fourth-quarter productivity data on
Tuesday, the federal funds futures market at the Chicago Board of Trade is
pricing in a 100% chance of a quarter-point hike in March to 4.75%, with an
added 4% chance that the hike will be a half-point move. The market is fully
pricing in a 5% fed funds rate by June and about a 1-in-3 chance of a 5.25%
funds rate by October."
So könnte der Dollar steigen.
